How many sheets of mesh will I require for the concrete slab?
Easy. Firstly calculate the total square metres of the concrete slab and then divide this figure by 12.5. This will give you the number of sheets required. (Calculation based on standard mesh sheet size of 6 metres x 2.4 metres)
How many bar chairs will I require?
On average, allow for 1 chair for every square metre. Depending on the weight of mesh required in the slab, this figure can increase to 1 chair per every 0.64M2 – 800 x 800mm square.
How many lengths of trench mesh will I need?
Firstly calculate the total lineal metres. For a single layer of trench mesh, divide this figure by 5.5. You now have the total number of trench mesh (6 metre lengths) required for the job. If a double layer of trench mesh is required, then double this figure.
How many trench mesh supports will I require?
Once you have determined the total linear metres, it is generally agreed that 1 support for each linear metre will be enough.
